This course is about giving participants a deeper understanding of the things resilient people think, feel and do. Understand how our attitudes and beliefs trigger emotional reactions.

What was particularly interesting, enjoyable or useful?
All aspects, stimulated useful thought processes and provided knowledge which can be applied in future
The materials on resilience & EI
Subject matter very interesting, time to explore techniques & re-establish how effective & important EI is.
Learning the heartmath tool & time to reflect on how to use some of the techniques
Change in mind-set with a lot of personal issues – more positive thinking in relation to change. Focus and manage change.
Good reminder to think before we speak/act
There were lots of realistic scenarios & lots of tools to use to become a resilient leader. Using associated & disassociated pictures and how to anchor that feeling
What was the most challenging part of the day?
Applying to self
Challenging my systems of beliefs & the fact that there are beliefs behind each decision. Being aware of emotional intelligence in day-day interactions with others
Reflecting on habits - habitual patterns & how you can move on and change behaviour patterns
Emotional landscape & how to move from one to side to other
Re-evaluation of where I am personally and what I want to get out of life & where I want to be.

What was it about the way that the facilitators worked that contributed or detracted to the effectiveness of this day?
Humour & encouragement of participation
The way the discussions were managed was excellent and all contributions were used to bring out learning points from everybody. Hugely enjoyable and fun
Facilitator created rapport & provided examples which grounded theory & made it applicable & of value.
Excellent communication, great learning & good humour. Practical ways to look at it.
Interaction with audience – bringing the individual along
Use of interaction and real life situations
Tutor was extremely witty and brought an element of fun to the session
What do you suggest we do differently at future development events?
There is a need to develop a co-ordinated programme for managers at all levels as part of the ESA change programme – extremely useful content in relation to change management
Would have liked a 2nd day to develop these techniques & explore some of the ideas further
